Legal Remedies for Domestic Violence

An Order of Protection is a legal document, granted by a judge, to help protect a victim of violence, abuse, and harassment. Orders are drafted to meet and to protect the desires of the individual victim and are enforced by law enforcement and the courts.

Survivor Empowerment Center staff are located at Franklin, Saline and Williamson County courthouses to help victims with the process of seeking an Order of Protection. There are three types:
Order of Protection for domestic violence victims
Civil No Contact Order for sexual assault/abuse victims
Stalking No Contact Order for victims not eligible for the other two protective orders
