We accomplish this by having everyone - staff, interns and volunteers - use a strength based, client-centered counseling approach to empower all survivors. We support the survivor to explore coping strategies and therapeutic techniques that resonate and work best for them, rather than diagnosing or telling a survivor what they should do. Survivors are always in the driver's seat.
Client centered services involve listening, encouraging, validating, normalizing, reflecting and giving resources while providing a safe environment in which to do so.
